DIAMOND
Diamond "The Unconquerable". There is nothing comparable to it in hardness; it is therefore nearly imperishable. Due to the optical effects, the high hardness, and rarity, the Diamond is considered the king of gemstones. It has been used for adornment, since ancient times. On the Mohs scale of 1 to 10, the Diamond hardness is the maximum hardness, or a 10.
EMERALD
Emerald is known to bring good fortune and is said to empower its owner with foresigth. Its rich green hues reflect nature and symbolize fertility, rebirth and springtime. Legends claim that wearing an Emerald will strengthen memory, guard against evil spirits and reveal the truth of a lover's identity. Once a favorite of Cleopatra, Emeralds are the birthstone for May. The Mohs' hardness is between 7 and 8. Emerald is the most precious stone in the Beryl group.
RUBY
The fiery color of the Ruby symbolizes devotion and desire. It was once believed that the wearer of a Ruby was blessed with health, wealth, wisdom and outstanding success in affairs of the heart. Ruby is the birthstone for July. Ruby is a type of corundum. The Mohs' hardness is 9.
SAPPHIRE
Although "sapphiru" means blue in Latin, sapphires can be found in a rainbow of colors. Kings once believed these stones offered protection from harm and envy. Sapphire is the bithstone for September. Sapphire is a type of corundum. Sapphire and Ruby are from the same family, Corundum. The word "ruby" refers to a deep red coloring, therefore a red Sapphire, or Corundum, is called a Ruby. The Mohs' hardness is 9.
ROCK CRYSTAL
As tools of magic, stones lend us their energies and concentrate the purpose within themselves. Because of this, the stone used for a positive spell is retrieved and used as talisman. Some say the best stones are the ones you gather yourself. The stones need to be cleansed of any negativity or lingering psychic clutter. AMBER
Amber is actually a fossilized resin and is usually golden to yellow-brown in color Some has been found to contain red, blue or green hues. Amber is said to absorb and transmute negative energy to encourage healing and provide cleansing to a body or place. It has been used as a symbol of renewed love and to assure promises. It is a sacred stone to both Native American and Eastern Indians and has been said to bring good luck to warriors.
AMETHYST
Amethyst - a variety of quartz, which ranges in color from deep purple to pale lavender. The presence of manganese in clear quartz produces amethyst, while additional content of iron varies the purple coloration. Amethyst is said to be a stone of spirituality and is also said to bestow stability, invigoration, and perfect peace to the bearer. When used in meditation Amethyst opens the crown chakra.
CORAL
Coral is actually the vacated housing of a Marine animal and thus comes from the sea. It's color range includes black, pink, red, white and blue. Coral is said to quiet the emotions and to bring peace. It also facilitates visualization, intuition, and imagination. It is said to have the ability to assist the bearer in contacting past spiritual masters and accelerate the transfer of knowledge.
LAPIS - LAZULI
LAPIS-LAZULI - Lapis is a deep blue and is a combination of minerals, primarily lazurite and calcite: Lapis found in Afghanistan often contains pyrite as well. This stone is said to have existed since "before time was born" and thus is said to provide one access to esoteric planetary knowledge. The stone activates the throat and brow Chakras and also energizes them. It is also said to help one to relieve emotional wounds by helping to release those thoughts which are hidden in the mind and cause disease. It is a stone of "awareness" and helps to expand awareness and intellectual capacity.
TOURMALINE
Tourmaline crystallizes in prisms and sometimes is very slender and needle like. The color range includes deep pink to red to red violet, blue, yellow, brown, green, orange, black, colorless, bi-colored, tri-colored. The energy of the stone is said to relate to each of the Chakras respectively. It acts to clear and maintain the energy centers of the body. The Tourmaline has inherent electrical emanations. The stone is thought to bring healing powers to the user and provide protection from physical dangers. It helps one to connect their inner world with the outer physical world.
TURQUOISE
Turquoise strengthens and aligns all Chakras, meridians, and subtle bodies. It can bring any and all energies to a higher level. It primarily stimulates the throat, heart and naval Chakras. The stone is excellent for spiritual attunement and for healing and cleansing the energy centers and the physical body. It is also excellent for providing protection.
